Duties and Responsiblities:

The Access Authorization Specialist 1 is an individual within the Vogtle 3&4 Security Organization that assembles the information required for the qualified Fitness For Duty Authorization (FFDA) Reviewing Official(s) to make a determination regarding the granting of unescorted access, in accordance with the requirements of project procedures and U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations (10 CFR 26).  This position also records and files this information and maintains the security and confidentiality of this information.  This position interfaces on a daily basis with the various Human Resource departments, the project security organization, and the FFD organization.

Create access authorization files for new, incoming personnel.   Provide window customer service, as needed.  Assist with interviews concerning current employees.   Provide access authorization files to supervision and the Reviewing Official for determination regarding the granting of FFDA.   Enter FFDA information for all individuals in required databases (Empact, CCure, PADS).  Compile hard-copy information/paperwork into access authorizations files for all individuals regarding the granting of FFDA.   Maintain strict confidentiality and security of all access authorization documentation and files.   Perform other duties as may be assigned by Access Group Lead, Supervision, and/or Management.

Education:  High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: > 1 year Access Authorization, Access Control, Security, FFD experience preferred; comparable education and related experience evaluated on a case-by-case basis.


Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);

Must show ability to learn and utilize proprietary databases related to course of work;

Must have strong written and oral communication skills;
